PROGRAMME-RELATED QUESTIONS
What is the duration of the Lawyers Learn Technology programme?
Lawyers Learn Technology (“LLT”) is a self-paced programme. This means that you can go through the programme at the pace that suits you, within an overall limit of one year from enrolment. We suggest you take six weeks to go through the entire programme, but you have up to a year to complete this. Your access to programme materials will expire one year after you enrol. After that, you can choose to enrol for a further period of one year if you wish, by paying a re-enrolment fee of INR 1,000.
Will there be any live classes as a part of the Lawyers Learn Technology programme?
Your faculty will conduct two online sessions each month, where you can raise your doubts, obtain clarifications, and go through problem-solving exercises with them. These sessions will be conducted live, for two hours each, on a web conferencing platform. All active enrolled students will be sent the schedule, login details, and the specific set of topics and faculty who will be available for these live sessions in advance. Note that these are not individual one-on-one sessions - each virtual classroom session will be open to all active enrolled students.
How do I get any doubts resolved? Who can I ask for help?
In addition to the two live sessions each month in which you can ask your teachers for clarification or help, you can also use the discussion forums that appear alongside each Unit of content to post your doubts and queries. Faculty will check these discussion forums regularly, and respond to your queries as soon as possible. Additionally, we encourage you to provide responses to other students’ queries. We believe in collective, collaborative learning, and there’s a good chance that a discussion forum already has questions and clarifications that will help you resolve your doubts before you can post them!
What requirements must I fulfil to get a certificate at the end of the Lawyers Learn Programme?
In order to be eligible for the grant of a certificate of completion for the LLT programme, you must: (i) go through all the programme readings and videos, and (ii) meet the passing criteria for all the quizzes (typically, 60% for each quiz). There is no limit on the number of times you can attempt a quiz - so don’t worry if you do not pass a quiz the first time - you can always try again! The Learning Management System (“LMS”) on which the programme is hosted will keep track of what programme materials you have accessed, as well as your quiz scores. As soon as you fulfil these requirements, a certificate will be generated automatically and provided to you.
Can I go through the programme materials in any order I want?
You must go through the programme materials in the sequence that they are arranged on the LMS. The LMS has been configured such that you will only be able to access a Unit or Module of content after going through the previous materials. This is because the pedagogical design of the LLT programme is such that you will be better able to understand and engage with each Unit or Module of programme content after having gone through the previous Units and Modules.
Can only lawyers enrol for the Lawyers Learn Technology programme? Can law students enrol as well?
We invite all law students as well as lawyers to enrol for the LLT programme. The programme has been designed in a manner that ensures it is suitable for law students studying in any year of their law programme, and for lawyers with any amount of post-qualification experience.
Can non-lawyers and law-students enrol for the programme as well?
Certainly. The LLT programme has been designed for lawyers and law students - it shows how the methods of legal reasoning that are already familiar to lawyers and law students can be applied to the world of technology. However, we do not restrict enrolment only to lawyers and law students. If you do not fall within either of these categories, but wish to enrol for the programme regardless, we invite you to do so, and look forward to meeting you in the programme!
Can I download the programme materials?
No. There is no limit to the number of times you can access programme materials on the LMS, but you may not download any programme materials. Your Certificate of Completion, once you fulfil the requirements for it, will be available for download.
- 9. Can I cancel my enrolment or ask for a refund after I have enrolled for a Lawyers Learn programme?
No. Please read all the terms and conditions on this website, as well these FAQs carefully, before you decide to enrol in a Lawyers Learn programme. We cannot cancel enrolments, nor can we refund any fees paid to enrol into a programme.
